Essilor To Relaunch Consumer Incentive Program

Successful Power of 3 Event Spurs New Consumer Initiative with Greater Rewards to Further Increase Demand for Premium Lenses through Independent Eyecare Professionals

DALLAS – On the heels of the success of the Power of 3 event, which motivated consumers nationwide to purchase premium lenses through independent eyecare professionals, Essilor will expand the program by adding a rebate incentive on Rx sunwear.
The Power of 3X initiative, launching April 1, 2015, will continue to drive patients to their local independent ECP and offer a direct incentive to purchase the most premium innovations in lens technology available today: Crizal® No-Glare, Transitions® Adaptive, and Varilux® progressive lenses, and new this year, Xperio UVTM, Essilor’s premium prescription polarized lenses. 

The Power of 3X rebate program, only available through independent ECPs, will also be supported by Essilor’s national advertising campaigns, including television, radio and online media, which will drive consumers to find an independent eyecare professional through an exclusive online locator tool.

“The Power of 3 event increased consumer awareness of choice in lenses while providing ECPs the opportunity to maximize their patients’ vision and experience of premium branded lenses within their practices,” said Lauri Crawford, senior vice president of marketing, Essilor of America. “The new Power of 3X program aims to continue to motivate consumers to visit their local independent practice, while also helping ECPs capitalize on the significantly underpenetrated prescription sunwear market with an enticing Xperio UV incentive.”

Through the Power of 3X program, participating independent ECPs will be able to offer their patients a rebate worth up to $30 back by mail when they purchase Crizal, Varilux and Transitions lenses, plus up to an additional $60 mail-in rebate with the purchase of Xperio UV prescription polarized lenses during the same office visit.

Patients are eligible to receive up to $90 in total mail-in rebates, with discounts as follows:

  • $10 rebate for purchasing one featured product
  • $20 rebate for purchasing two featured products
  • $30 rebate if all three featured products are purchased
  • And when a patient also purchases Xperio UV lenses as a second pair during the same office visit, patients can qualify for an additional mail-in rebate valued between $20 and $60

The Power of 3X program will run from April 1 – September 30, 2015. Enrollment for ECPs will begin on January 19, 2015.
