Lisa Stottlemyer, OD, Promise In Sight

Dr. Lisa Stottlemyer is the definition of service to humanity. For the past four years I've had the privilege to serve with Lisa in the service to others in Nicaragua. She is one of the founding members of a non-profit eye care team called Promise In Sight. Yearly we travel to the remote regions of one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere; providing eye care to people who have never had the opportunity. In four and a half days, Lisa and her team touched the lives of over 1,400 people, performing basic eye exams, 80 cataract surgeries, and 45 laser procedures. She does so without hesitation and works until there is no sun light in the day or we run out of supplies. Exhaustion is not a word in her vocabulary, and she does not rest until the last patient is seen. She is an angel to those in need. I cannot think of another individual more deserving of this opportunity than Dr. Lisa Stottlemyer.
