Any eyecare professional (ophthalmologist, optometrist, optician, etc.) is eligible to be nominated for the service trip, as long as they meet the legal requirements as outlined in the Official Rules.
Anyone 18 years or older can make a nomination.
Three nominees will be selected for the service trip.
The exact location of the volunteer opportunity is still being determined, but the trip will include visits to Singapore and Thailand.
Exact dates are still to be determined, but the trip is targeted to take place in early to mid-March of 2019.
The exact agenda is still being worked out, but it will include a one-day immersion into Essilor’s mission at the Singapore corporate office, three days of volunteer work in Thailand, at least two free days to be spent at the winner’s leisure, and about four travel days.
Each entry essay will be ranked according to the following criteria: passion for improving lives by improving sight (75%) and impact on community/others from the nominee’s efforts (25%). The top three nominees whose essays earn the highest overall scores will win. Winner selection will be conducted by a panel of three independent judges whose decisions are final.
All entries are due by 11:59:59 p.m. Central Daylight on November 30, 2018.

The judges will not consider nominees’ order history with Essilor and nominees/winners have no obligation, and will not have any obligation, to purchase, order, recommend, or arrange for the purchase or order of Essilor products or services, or otherwise do business with Essilor or any of its affiliates.
