Hubert Sagnieres, Chief Operating Officer, Essilor International

Hubert Sagnieres began his career with Essilor in 1989, serving as vice president of international marketing for the Essilor Group. One year later,  Sagnieres was promoted to president of Essilor Canada. In 1996, he became president of Omega Group of Laboratories, members of the national network of optical laboratories owned by Essilor Laboratories. In 1998, he was promoted to president of Essilor of America and later served as CEO Essilor North America.

Sagnieres was recently named Chief Operating Officer, Essilor International, co-serving in that role with Philippe Alfroid until 2009. He offices at the Essilor International headquarters in France.

Sagnieres also serves on the board of Transitions Optical, Inc.

John Carrier, President, Essilor of America, Inc.
John Carrier spent his first years at Essilor in logistics/distribution in the United States and in France. He was later appointed general manager of Essilor Switzerland. In 1996, Carrier returned to the corporate office in Paris as director of strategic marketing. In 1998, he was appointed senior vice president of marketing for Essilor of America, and, in 2003, promoted to president of Essilor Laboratories of America.  He became president of Essilor of America in January 2007.

Mike Daley, Consultant, Former President, Essilor Lens Group

Mike Daley began his career with Essilor in 1976, serving as a Varilux Corporation sales consultant. In 1989, Mr. Daley was promoted to president of Varilux Corporation. In 1996, Daley was appointed president and COO of Essilor of Americas United States Lens Division, known as Essilor Lenses, following the merger of Varilux Corporation into Essilor.

Daley is a registered optician. In 1997, he was inducted into the National Academy of Opticianry (NAO) Hall of Fame. He is a Fellow with the NAO, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Ophthalmic Dispensing Program.

Daley recently announced his retirement from Essilor effective August 30, 2008. He will, however, continue with Essilor in a consulting role and will remain an active ambassador to the eyecare industry through leadership roles in the AOA and other associations.

Real Goulet, President, Essilor Lab Group

Real Goulet joined Essilor, Canada in 1987 as Production Manager of the Montreal Laboratory.  While in Canada he held numerous positions including president of Pro-Optic of K&W Optical and vice president of operations for Essilor Canada Group Laboratories.  Goulet joined Essilor of America in 2004 and has held the position of senior vice president for the National Laboratories Division.  In January 2007, he was promoted to president of Essilor Laboratories of America.

Bob Colucci, President, Independent Distribution Division, Essilor of America, Inc.

Bob Colucci began his career with Essilor in 1989 as director of sales for Varilux Corporation. He was promoted to vice president of sales in early 1991 and had an active role over the years in the rapid growth of the Varilux product line. In 1996, Essilor Lenses reorganized into distinct business units focusing on unique customer segments, wherein, Colucci was appointed senior vice president, general manager wholesale group, Essilor Lenses (a division of Essilor of America). In 1997, he was elected by the U.S. employees to serve on the board of directors of Valoptec Association, the association that represents the Essilor employee shareholders, a position he held through April 2006.

In 1999, the Essilor International shareholders elected Colucci as a member of the Essilor Board of Directors which he served until March of 2004. Also in 1999 (August 1), he assumed the position of senior vice president, sales and marketing for Essilor Laboratories of America (ELOA).

In October of 2004, Colucci was named president of the newly formed Independent Distribution Division.

Kevin A. Rupp, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration, Essilor of America

Kevin Rupp joined Essilor of America in 2000 as the chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance and administration. During his career at Essilor, Rupp has implemented a shared service organization for the administrative functions of the company. This restructuring has included an enterprise wide systems implementation to provide full administrative services to all operating business units from a central shared service organization. A certified public accountant, Rupp received his bachelors degree in business from the University of Houston. Prior to joining Essilor, Rupp was employed in the energy industry for more than 20 years with Arco, Fina and TotalFina.

John Walborn, Vice President of Growth and Business Development, Essilor of America, Inc.

John Walborn joined Essilor of America in 2007. Prior to joining Essilor, he held both sales management and marketing positions at Dexide and General Electric. Walborn received his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and his Masters of Business Administration from Baker University.

Steve Nussbaumer, Vice President and General Manager, Essilor Retail Group

Steve Nussbaumer joined Essilor of America in 2004 as Marketing Director, Essilor Laboratories of America. Nussbaumer was promoted to Vice President, Channel Management in 2007, and he assumed the role of Vice President/General Manager of the Retail Division in 2008.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Alabama and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. Prior to Essilor, Nussbaumer held progressive marketing and product management positions at Philips Consumer Electronics, Verizon, Motorola and TXU Energy.

Leslie Wilemon, Vice President of Human Resources, Essilor of America, Inc.

Leslie Wilemon joined Essilor of America in 2002 as vice president of human resources. Wilemon received her bachelors degree in business management from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She previously held human resource positions at EDS, Nortel and Frito-Lay. Wilemon is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

Carl Bracy, Vice President of Marketing, Essilor of America, Inc.

Carl Bracy joined Essilor of America in 2004 as vice president of marketing. Bracy received his undergraduate degree in psychology and economics and his masters of business administration in marketing and finance from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Essilor, he held positions with Proctor and Gamble, Verizon, and TXU Energy.

Rick Long, Senior Vice President of Partner Labs, Essilor of America, Inc.

Rick Long began his career with Essilor in 1996, serving as CFO of the Omega Optical Lab Group. He was appointed ELOA Regional Vice President, Northeast Region in 1998 and relocated to Dayton, Ohio. In 2001, Long returned to the Dallas corporate office to be responsible for several projects in the PFG initiative. In 2003, he was appointed to lead the newly-formed Partner Lab Group. In January 2007, Long was promoted to senior vice president of the division.

 
David Milan, General Counsel and Vice President of Legal, Essilor of America, Inc.

David Milan joined Essilor in 2000 as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal. Milan has responsibility for the Essilor of America legal department, which provides internal legal services for all of the Essilor of America affiliated entities in the United States.

Prior to Essilor, Milan was a trial lawyer with Dallas-based Winstead, Sechrest and Minick, P.C., as well as serving as in-house counsel to Snelling Personnel Services and Pearle Vision, Inc. He received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University.

 
Howard Purcell, O.D., F.A.A.O., Dipl., Vice President of Customer Development, Essilor of America, Inc.

Dr. Purcell joined Essilor in 2008 as Vice President of Customer Development. Prior to joining Essilor, he served as Senior Director of Professional Affairs for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. He was with Vistakon since February 1995.

A graduate of the New England College of Optometry in 1984, Purcell participated in a group optometric practice for 11 years. While in private practice, he served as clinical investigator and consultant to the contact lens industry. He is a Diplomate in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section of the American Academy of Optometry.

Pauline Yan, Vice President of Integrated Healthcare Market Solutions, Essilor of America, Inc.

Pauline Yan joined Essilor in 2006, with vast experience from healthcare-related industries. Prior to joining Essilor, Yan was a vice president with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. Yan received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry for University of California Berkeley and her Master's degree in environmental management from the University of San Francisco.

Brad Staley, Vice President, Operations and Technology, Essilor of America, Inc.

Brad Staley joined Essilor general management in 2007 working on strategic growth initiatives within the Essilor Laboratories of America subsidiary. Later in 2007, he was promoted to his currently held position. Prior to Essilor, Staley held various executive management roles in high tech industries, including semiconductor manufacturing and nuclear energy.

Staley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.

Maureen Cavanagh, President, Nassau Lens Company

Maureen Cavanagh joined Essilor in October 2005 with the acquisition of DEFINITY from Johnson & Johnson.  Cavanagh and the DEFINITY team were highly effective in integrating and supporting DEFINITY, which in part continues to contribute to the strong results today.  In October 2007, she assumed the role of V.P. Integrated Retail where she has established this unique group of customers as a stand-alone channel by developing sales planning and capability, product and service offerings resulting in double digit growth the past two years including during very difficult economic times.  Prior to Essilor, Cavanagh held various sales and operations positions at The Spectacle Lens Group (J&J), Marine Optical Group, Cohen’s Fashion Optical and Vistakon. 

Leanirith Yean, Vice President of North America R&D, Essilor of America, Inc.

Leanirith Yean began his career with Essilor in 1984 as a research engineer at R&D Technical Center, Essilor International. While in Paris, he held different positions as R&D Manager and R&D Technical Director. In 2006, he was appointed Vice President North America R&D, Essilor of America. Yean received his engineering degree and PhD in Materials Physic Chemistry from the University of Paris.

Sekhar Ray, Chief Information Officer, Essilor of America, Inc.

Sekhar Ray joined Essilor of America in 2008 as the Chief Information Officer. Ray received his bachelor's degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, India. He previously held various executive management positions with Cadbury, Dell and Citigroup. Ray also leads Essilor's Lab Management Solutions business as its CEO and Chairman of the board.

Mike Nathe, Senior Vice President, Essilor Laboratories of America, Inc.

Mike Nathe joined Essilor Laboratories of America after he sold Custom Eyes/Optical Resources in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota in 2000. In 2003, he transferred to Tampa, Florida after being promoted to Regional Vice President of the South East Region. In 2004, Nathe took on the additional responsibility of the Mid Atlantic Region. He was promoted to Senior Vice President for Essilor Labs East Division responsible for 5 Regional Vice Presidents in 2005 and made the move to the corporate headquarters in Dallas. Nathe became Senior Vice President of Essilor Laboratories of America in 2008.

Eric Javellaud, Executive VP of Operations, North America

Eric Javellaud joined Essilor in 1994 as Industrial Project Manager in the Engineering Department. In 1997, he created and led the supply chain development group for six years. In 2003, he was appointed as Plant manager in Dijon. In 2007, he joined Essilor of America to overview activities of the North American factories and in 2008, he was promoted to Senior vice-president of American Operations (NAOps and EDAM).
